PENSACOLA, FL -- Revival is
still in the growth pattern as once again on Thanksgiving people
came from everywhere to brave the elements to seek God. Along the
lines the interviews reveal the movement of God and the people
that came from all over the world to experience the power of God.
George Russell of Columbia, Tennessee celebrated his first birthday at Brownsville Assembly of God in Pensacola on Thursday, November 27, 1997. Exactly one year ago on Thanksgiving Day, 1996, he received Christ as his Saviour and Lord at the Revival. His wife Ann and their daughter had their faith renewed also.
A beaming George Russell stood in the long line Thursday enjoying the testimonies he was hearing. He now has one to share as well. George plans to be back for Thanksgiving Day, 1998. He said that a special part of this day for him was eating Thanksgiving dinner in line.
DANISH PASTOR VISITS
David Hansen is a pastor from Denmark. He brought a group of 25 cell groups and key leaders from his church, Aalborg Menigheds Center or City Church. This is a non-denominational charismatic church.
Pastor Hansen had been to Brownsville in February with several worship leaders. They have already experienced the spirit of Revival from Brownsville. "It is the same flow, just on a smaller scale." He said that they want to see more repentance and holy living. They have prayed for ten years for revival.
In September, they had an evangelist preach, and this led to eight weeks of revival. The charismatic movement is not new to Denmark, which is known for its state run Lutheran church. T.B. Barrett, a Norwegian, who was at Azusa Street and in the Welsh Revival brought it back to Denmark early in the century.
Several of the Danes in the group did not know English, but they were able to follow the services using headphones and the Danish language translation. Much of what happened transcended language barriers as the Spirit of God moved mightily among the group.
Stefan Liston of Vineyard Community Church in London was in the Thursday line with 4 other men from his church. He had seen a Brownsville video in a prayer meeting. He said that he has heard reports of the Revival from other churches.
"God has been pouring out His Spirit on us in a new way." He said that since 1994, God has been doing mighty things in England. "We want to see a breakthrough in our city and nation. We came to receive an anointing to inspire the church and raise faith." "Something is happening here that weve longed for and prayed for but not actually seen." Stefan said that the Wednesday night service was similar to their church's in fervency, but the altar call was different. "We are not having that kind of response from unbelievers." "England is on the verge of revival. Something big is about to happen.
BIKER VISITS REVIVAL
Dave Boulion is originally from Louisiana. His family now lives in Texas, but Dave moved to Pensacola following a job transfer. Some friends from Texas were visiting with him, and they wanted to come to the Revival. Dave decided to have a "tailgate" party in the Brownsville parking lot this Thanksgiving since he had some turkey and gumbo and pies sent by his mother. He's been in Pensacola since August 18th, and he comes to the Revival almost every night. "My buddies and family have seen the change in my life." "I have a deeper, richer understanding of who the Lord is and how much He means to me." Dave stands out from the crowd. He is a biker. He loves to ride a
Harley, and he is a member of the Christian Motorcycle Assn. "I share Jesus with the biker groups. They need someone to hear their burdens." He said that he is hoping to receive anything the Lord has for me. "I dont care what it is."
Ebed Paul (right) is from Haiti and attends Faith School of Theology in Maine. His friend Cisco Victa invited him to revival. Ebed wants to carry the Revival back to Haiti. He said, "I believe God will bring the revival to Haiti. Most people there practice voodoo." "God will do the same thing he is
doing here. This revival will take place all over the world." He said that God really called him to work with the young people in Haiti. He wants to open an orphanage and Bible college in Haiti. "I cant wait to go back to preach and teach."
Cisco Victa , also of Faith School of Theology, heard about the revival through video tapes and Dr. Browns books. Cisco wants a closer walk with the Lord and to receive an anointing to take back to school. He said, "I want the Lord to use me to glorify His name." Cisco is from New Jersey, and he is really excited about what the Lord is doing. He said that the criticism of the Revival should be expected. He heard Steves mother speak. "I dont doubt Steve Hill. You can see the glory of the Lord on him. Hes intense about getting people to come to the Lord."
People have shared testimony after testimony as they have returned to the Holy Place in Pensacola to give God the glory for what was done for them. Still more are being saved.
