The time we spent with Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne Jr. was well spent as a journalist. Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne does things with an excellent spirit. He never does anything unless he fully puts his heart mind and soul into it. If you are with him in service you know that he moves by the way of the Spirit of God with no distractions. The first time I met this great man of God was in his great outreach at Madison Square Garden. It was a vision that was given to him in a dream by God. To say it was on time was to say that whatever opportunity that Rodney was told to do, he responded in obedienc
e. At the time it costs his entire ministry and could of wrecked everything he had his hands on but the vision had to be carried out and this revival leader was called on by God to put everything he had on the line.
History Events This Man
The River of God Movement that has flourished through the 1990’s until this moment. It was called the impartation of God and it was done through the laying on of hands. The transfer an anointing into a new door of refreshing that has never been seen before on the face of the earth.While many would dispute this historical fact the statement that has been made about this great man of God is true. God Called Him As A Boy From His Native South Africa
Rodney Howard-Browne’s vision as a young boy on the Eastern Cape of South Africa called him out from the ordinary and gave him a burden for America. Even as a little boy his brother and him would be playing church and Rodney would open the window up in his room and tell his brother he had to go to America. When he stepped out that window as a child he was acting out something that was prophetically driven as a child. What he did in play, as a child he would do as a man. While he was a young person he was moved upon by the fire of the Holy Ghost that fell over him for an entire week. It was a supernatural event and a Baptism of God for a supernatural work. God’s anointing was on him as a child but the revelation of what he would do and how he would do it was not revealed.
Coming To America
In the late 1980’s Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne took his family and flew from South Africa to Florida with nothing but a one way airfare and a lot of hope.
He believed in Faith and was birthed in that believe during his time at Rhema Bible Institute in South Africa under the guidance of Ray McCauley. He knew that this was God’s moment and so he bought one-way tickets to America and never looked back. With nothing in his pocket he went to the desk at the Days Inn and checked in, as the man asked, “How are you gong to pay for it,” a voice said, are you Rodney Howard-Browne and he said yes, I have an envelop for you and inside of that envelope was an American Express Card with his name on it. He quickly gave it to the clerk and with that a ministry was launched in Florida that would reach an entire world.
Dr. Howard-Browne struggled at first to preach in America, until one day in a storefront church in New York State a group of people started laughing in the middle of his meeting. Many would think that it would be very rude to do that in a meeting but Rodney knew it was the Spirit of God. He might of thought that it was a one-time event but the next stop he saw the Spirit of God drop even to a deeper level. The question is what was God doing in these events, what would God cause people to laugh and what could this accomplish. Would this work in a traditional situation, as the power of God flowed through this mighty man of God a tremendous turn happened when a vineyard pastor came to Tulsa to receive from Rodney at Rhea Bible Institute in Broken Arrow. God touched Randy Clark, as he went back to his small church and powerful explosion happened. There had never been any type of manifestation at his church but on the day he God back from Okalahoma he saw people being dropped in the Spirit and the powerful move of God in a place that had been dead for years. Randy Clark said he had been dead for years and this fresh breeze of the Holy Spirit changed his whole life and ministry.
