Fasting And Broadcasting

LOUISVILLE, KY -- When you are born into a great family the extension of that family is seen through the fingers of your sons.  In the case of Wayman Rogers, he had a son who at first looked like an obstacles and then wound up  being the center piece of a great international ministry.  Bob Rogers has built his church on prayer, fasting and giving.  He is a graduate of Oral Roberts University and recently he was honored with an honorary Doctorate Degree in area of fasting.  The vision has been created around this soft and gentle pastor is one that has a supernatural direction. No two men's visions are alike and the father son vision of Louisville would be established by two great men of God, his father Wayman and the son Bob.

Evangel World Prayer Center is involved in deep ministry throughout the entire world.  Bob Rogers teaches the three fold blessing of Prayer, Fasting and Giving.   On one Christmas morning while the main service was going on in the church he asked if there was anyone who needed extra money to take what they need from the collection plate for what they need.  Rogers knows something that many pastors never learn in a life-time.   God is not in a hurry and he is always kind to people, he always comes when you least expect it. The wisdom of Wayman Rogers spoke into his sons ears grew into a might man of God and faith today.  Wyman Rogers was in the church when Colonial Harlan Sanders dedicated his life to Christ.  The Kentucky Fried Chicken King defied the rules of giving by giving 90 per cent of every profit dollar at Kentucky Fried Chicken to Evangel Church.  When Bob Rogers graduated from Oral Roberts University as a young man he was told by his father that just because he was his son, he was not going to receive privilege at his father's church and that it would be better if he established himself in ministry before it was his time to come back to Evangel.  As wise as his father was the wisdom brought the son to a deeper level of understanding in ministry.  Had the father brought him back in favor among the congregation after graduating from ORU, Bob Rogers would never have the character and respect in ministry that he has today.  If you go to one of his services on Sunday morning, or any service in the church you will find that he is accessible.  I watched one Sunday as person after person came up to him, and as Bob took time to speak with every person with deep respect.  He is an ironman who knows how to run the long race of endurance.  He is so hungry to see his city changed that he has an Iron Man Race for the Lord at the beginning of each year.  He runs around the entire city and then he publishes his publication at the church that deals with fasting.  The church at the beginning of each year goes into a 21 day fast to touch the face of God.  People remember the days of a wild impulsive boy who climbed the prayer tower in Okalahoma, and the day his father has to personally come to ORU to ask Oral Roberts to give him another chance.  When I think of the story of the Prodigal, I have to think about Bob Rogers and how he came home.  It was all of a sudden that Wyman Rogers at a you 60 years old had a heart attack and left the church leaderless.  A young Bob Rogers came home to fill the shoes of this might man of God.  He took over the church and not like his father at all he set the church in a different direction.  It's strange, Bob Rogers was much like his father, but when it came to the direction of the church the anointing of the son was not like his fathers.  It wasn't greater and it wasn't lesser, it was there for the purpose of the cross.  Much like his father he knew that the ministry to the poor of Louisville who have to be adopted.  There has been so much prayer, fasting and giving in Evangel World Prayer Center the half has not been told of this last days ministry.  His efforts at communicating the gospel through his partnership with High Adventure
