He Was Left In The ER To Die
"They thought maybe a few ribs might
be broken. Pretty smart, huh, since my chest was only four or
five inches in thickness, they rolled me in for x-rays and they
take me back out and I hear the doctors talking. They said every
single one of my ribs were broken, its been documented by
x-rays. There is so much internal bleeding, they dont even
know what to do. They cant even figure out what to do with
this broken body. I had lost so much blood, they didnt even
know how I could be alive so they rolled me back into the
emergency room and just left me alone for a long time."
THE WALT WEAVER STORY
ANDERSON, IN. -- If you hang around Pastor Walt Weaver long enough some of what he has comes off. This guy is so hungry for a move of God he will go to any length to find that sweet anointing that sets the captive free. God has a certain group of people that are hard headed and they dont know how to quit . That relentless hound of Heaven can be found in the heart of this pastor. He is that kind of person, believe me there is no dust on his trail when it comes to the Kingdom of God.Faith Christian Assembly is a special place in a town where religion has replaced the true meaning of God. The river of God has showed up in a magnificent way in this Assembly of God. As The Remnant traveled through the mid-west, Editor Jerrell Miller had the opportunity to visit three churches and each man of God had a vision -- each man of God was 36 years old and all three were moving in the realm of revival. Walt Weaver is no different and when you know more about his story, it will break your heart. Weaver, after he was saved, was touched with the burden for revival in his home church in St. Louis, Missouri. A true hound of Heaven,Walt began to call upon the presence of God; he began to cry out to God as a young 19-year-old boy. One day while he was praying alone with no one around, a young women heard him cry out, "Lord if it takes my life, bring revival to this church." He couldnt see her but she could see and hear him. Those very words would come back to her on another day because God was going to use Walt Weaver as an instrument of Him, as an imperfect being in need of a saviour.
As a young man, Walt Weaver worked in iron high above the ground. Soon after the prayer Walt was working at the top of a building and fell to what would have been death for some but for Walt, he was an instrument of Gods glory. As he was falling, a track crane was below and he bounced off that crane and landed on the floor as a bloody mess. In iron work there are not too many Christians, but that day God sent a Spirit-filled man to his side as he lay on the ground. He heard a voice say to him, "Ill pray with you until the ambulance gets here." God had put the first miracle in place as this man laid hands on Walt and called upon Gods mercy. One of his legs was broken so badly in places that the foot was pointed in the other direction. Anyone who saw him that day would think that it was just a matter of time before he died. His ribs were completely broken with some puncturing his lungs. Blood was showing out of his chest as this man of God helped him sit up so he could breathe. The blood was so bad in the chest cavity it could have caused him to drown in it.
It was a construction site and the only road had been removed during the day to continue construction. The ambulance took more than an hour and thirty minutes to get there - even though they were very close to a large hospital.
"As Weaver was brought into the emergency room doctors took one look at him and pushed him off to the side thinking that he would be impossible to put back together."
"His parents were not allowed to see him it was so grotesque, Weaver said, instead, though, they just sat out in the lobby and they began to pray. How many people know you can pray, even in the hospital, and God hears your prayers. Although the doctors couldnt figure out why I wasnt dying, they decided they had to do something, so one of the nurses there took me in for x-rays, x-rays of my chest. They thought maybe a few ribs might be broken. Pretty smart, huh, since my chest was only four or five inches in thickness, they rolled me in for x-rays and they took me back out and I heard the doctors talking. They said every single one of my ribs were broken, its been documented by x-rays. There is so much internal bleeding, they dont even know what to do. They cant even figure out what to do with this broken body. I had lost so much blood, they didnt even know how I could be alive so they rolled me back into the emergency room and just left me alone for a long time."
"Eventually what happened was, I had fallen on a Friday night and was in the St. Louis hospital and I wasnt dying quickly enough so they rolled me into the hall way to let me die out there. Lets you know how important you are, doesnt it? "Sorry, you didnt die quick enough, we are going to roll you into the hall way!"
"Here I am, sitting in the hall way now, and finally they allow my pastor to come in and pray with me. It is kind of a last rites type thing and the pastor had these privileges from time to time. He comes in and prays with me and prays the prayer of faith. I dont remember the exact words, I just remember he believed in the power of the blood of Jesus Christ, believed in the power of the blood."
"When he talked to the doctors and the doctors said I was going to die and he needed to prepare my parents for that and they were to plan a funeral; he went in and started to break the news to my parents, and they said, "Man, we cant plan a funeral you know what we are going to plan a prayer meeting!" How many people would rather plan a prayer meeting than a funeral any old day?"
"Now when I said my teeth all fell out, they dont fall out all nice and pretty and it ate at my lips pretty bad and the nurse was going to sew my lips back together so she gets out this little tooth brush and she is scrubbing away. She grabs a hold of my lip and just scrubs then goes to the other side and scrubs. Now people dont believe me when I say this, but this is the truth, it really happened. She is in the middle of scrubbing my lip and she pulls off my lip! I am telling you the truth. She screamed and threw my lip, my lip is cruising across this room. All of a sudden, splat, this lip lands on my chest. I am looking at my lip. "
"That is when I knew it was worse than I thought it was. This nurse just loses it, she screams and starts running down the hallway as fast as she can, screaming for the doctor. The doctor comes in, and there is nothing worse than a smart doctor, and he looks at me and says, "That will teach you to give the nurse any of your lip!" True story, I cant believe it. This guy sews my lip back on and they leave me alone for a long time. They just kind of roll me back there and no one was touching me and after a little while that nurse who pulled off my lip started feeling sorry for me."
Of course, this is my opinion, but if you pull someones lip off, you should feel sorry for them. She is going to help me out and this time she is gentle. No SOS pads for sure, she has little while wash rag and this little bowl of warm water and she really, truly, puts lotion in the water. She gets this wash rag and she wrings it out, and you have to understand, like I said, my chest is four or five inches in thickness and blood has sort of soaked through the pores of the chest so she is going to help me out. She gets this wash rag and wrings it out but she doesnt touch my chest, she just kind of dangles it above my chest, barely touching me with the end of it. You have to understand, people are praying and I have been at the altar before when I felt the Holy Spirit move. Have you ever felt the Holy Spirit just really get you at the altar when you just know it is the Holy Ghost. Have you ever had that happen? It gives you those Holy Ghost goose pimples. Did you ever feel those, it just feels good. I remember sitting there in the hospital room and all of a sudden there was just like an anointing that came into that emergency room, and the anointing came and then all of a sudden, I almost started to panic because I thought, I didnt know that could happen out of church. How many people know the anointing can come, even in the hospital room? Amen. I was sitting there and felt that anointing starting to come in and I started getting excited and said, "This feels good." The nurse is wiping the blood off my chest and right before her very eyes and right before my very eyes a couple of the muscles began to pull and a couple of bones began to pop. I am looking down going, cool. The nurse had a look just kind of blank like, I cannot believe this is happening to me. She took that wash rag and wrings it out one more time and she drapes it across my chest. Right before her very eyes and right before my very eyes that chest which was broken into four or five inches in thickness instantly began to pull and snap and the muscles went back into place and the bones went right back to where they were supposed to be. I went, Hallelujah, and the nurse screamed. She is running down the hall, "Doctor, wow!" She is running down the hallway again, screaming for the doctor. The doctor goes, oh my goodness, you must have ruptured something, and they rolled me back in for x-rays. They rolled me back out and they rolled me back in. They rolled me back in, and they rolled me back out, then all of a sudden I hear the doctors talking, and they said this machine must really be messed up tonight because just a few seconds ago it said every single one of his ribs were broken and now we cant even find a hairline fracture."
I am going to tell you folks, there is power in the blood of Jesus Christ. Can you say, Amen? Our God is an awesome God. I started getting all excited about things and the doctors were real shocked that they made a miscalculation so they started to check again and check out those neck injuries. Just a few minutes before they said my neck was broken and I was paralyzed, and now they couldnt find any break in the neck and they were really shocked. I was really excited. Things are going great, and I started getting up out of the hospital bed, I was getting ready to go home. I figured I might as well die at home rather than the hall way of the hospital. I am getting up out of the bed and this nurse comes running, full speed ahead, boom, she hits me and knocks me down in the bed. Thank you very much! She says, "Walt, you cant go anywhere, If you make it," and all of a sudden that big word "if" came, ringing through my mind. What do you mean, "if" I make it! Didnt you see my chest? I am all excited about things and she wasnt nearly as excited as I was.
Now they are thinking, maybe we better call a doctor. I think, good idea! So they call in some plastic surgeons and they look me over real good. I am in the emergency room now and they pull that white curtain shut, you know, the magic white curtain, the one where you cant hear what is going on the other side. Right. Its like the Waltons house, "Good night, John Boy." You know you can hear that a mile away.
I am listening to what is going on the other side and these doctors are talking. One doctor uses all the scientific words. If you have ever heard scientific words on injuries, it will make you nervous. I think, ooh, this doesnt sound good..
We will drill holes in the top of his head, and we will take bolts and we will hammer them down through the holes in his head until they come through the roof of his mouth, and then we will put six wires on his jaw, we will connect it to that bolt, we will pull it back up and put a nut on the top. All I could think was, I rebuke that in the name of Jesus. You know, I did not want that in any way, shape, or form.
Then they turned to the third doctor, and they said, "Doctor, what do you think?" All of a sudden this doctor says, "Well, you know something, I dont think it really matters." They said, you are probably right, and they went home. They didnt even plan surgery the whole first day I was in the hospital. They came back the next morning and I hadnt died."
The beginning of the accident was a mess that the doctors even felt like they couldnt challenge, but the purpose behind Walt Weavers life was not fulfilled yet. The prayer that the women heard him pray was for revival and that he would be willing to give his life for it. God heard the prayer and so did the women that heard him pray the prayer. As the church came together, normal announcements were made and then it was told about Walt Weaver and the accident that he had been in earlier that Friday. Miracle after miracle had gone forth, it was apparent to many that God had his hand on Walt but when the lady told the congregation about Walts prayer before the accident it changed the whole mood of the church. It was almost as if Walt was standing in with his dying body over a group of people who were actually dying, his home church. After the women told about Walts prayer it challenged the people. Many began to come forward and as the move of God began to touch the church and revival set in the body of Walt Weaver began to have a rapid recovery. The two were almost paralleled. The health of Walt Weaver got better as the church began to repent and come to God. The prayer was heard by God Himself but he didnt require Walts life because one had already died for the believers who were coming to the altars.
Many would ask, "What was the purpose for his accident and his incredible injuries. I believe God wanted to show his glory through Walt Weaver. He was a chosen vessel for the moment to wake up a group of people spiritually. Walts injuries would symbolize the church and the desire to see the church healed of the illnesses of sin. As he sat in the emergency room he was a hopeless case. Just as many people that pass by churches today and say, "Oh they have had so much trouble there, they will never do anything. But these are the situations and circumstances that bring forth the power and the glory of God. God will always move through the helpless to accomplish His will. Walt Weaver didnt mean much to the people of the church until his secret was released. The women who released the secret prayer toward the congregation also released the power of God.
Has Walt Weaver changed any? Sitting at the Red Lobster in Anderson, Indiana, after church on a Sunday afternoon all I could see was a 37-year-old man who was still excited about Jesus. I saw in this man the fire that was set that caused everyone else to come around and watch it burn. Faith Assembly of God in Anderson, Indiana, has a man of God who has a heart like David. His heart is with his people and his heart is with the people who dont know Jesus. Did Walt Weaver make a complete recovery? Physically he recovered -- Spiritually he has never recovered because he carries the burden of a Pastor who desires a move of God. For many who dont understand a call of God -- they should read this story. The call in Walts life never left and the need to achieve what God wants him to do is there constatntly. The work is never done until the master calls you home, in Walts case the life that left the hospital had made a difference in people he would touch later. Today Walt understands the Pentecostal miracle and the power of God that comes through to save.
