The Watch of the Lord

CHARLOTTE, NC – It was in the middle of the Brownsville Revival and someone gave me a book called The Watch of the Lord.  I had never heard of this man called Mahesh Chavda but as I read the book and testimonies of the watch I began to have a hunger to visit this special place.  People were being healed and people were coming together every Friday night to test the limits of prayer. It was just not in Charlotte but people took the model and Charlotte and cordinated their times to be matched with the primary watch.  It was just not the United States but it all over the world that all the Watches cordinated their prayer times with Charlotte.  The verse that say, "My house shall be a house of prayer is a reality in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Mashesh would lead his church into the early hours of Saturday morning and reports would come in of people being healed of cancer, fighter pilots escaping from a doomed jet to find the safety of the ground in Kosovo, and serveral other miracle events.  The Watch has adopted several ministries including this one in their Watch as the names are read aloud in the middle of the night.  It was a wonderful time to be alive and to discover this new man of God with my revival paper was like a breath of fresh air.  This made me even hungrier in my quest to see the face of God. They started in an old warehouse off of I-77 and moved to the PTL building near Ft. Mill, South Carolina. 

A NEW BEGINNING IN A BIG TOP TENT

    The next time I came back to see Mahesh Chavda it would be to a large revival tent posted out in the back of the old PTL complex that was designed for drug and alcohol rehabilitation.  During this time we would travel to the big top tent, and within that tent of meeting we saw powerfulo manifestations of the Holy Ghost and met a string of powerful leaders who came from all over the World to be refreshed in this temporary tabernacle.  My wife and I traveled there the first time and we did see the supernatural.  Mahesh called it the glory but as he began to minister in the power of God tiny specs of gold showed up on his lapel and dark blue suit.  It wasn’t a show because as you were in his large gospel tent we saw other things happen.  We saw beautiful blue, green and red sparks coming off the polls of the tents.  This was 2001, they had just moved  from their first church a warehouse  just off Interstate 77 to Ft. Mill , South Carolina just down the road. 

 We Saw God's Glory In The Difficult Time of 911

Vivian and I seemed to be their during the hottest period of tension, when the whole world was getting ready to come apart.  In 2001 we loaded up our van on September 11, 2001.  We didn’t know weather we should go or stay home, there was so much on the line at the time, it was a very serious time.  We decided to go to the meeting and the first night we saw two people come forward for prayer that saw all the events of 911.  One worked close to the buildings at the American Express Office.  She saw the people drop from the top floors of plagued building.  We knew that God had brought us their for a reason as another man who was working in the harbor and saw both planes crash into the large trade center buildings.  This weekend the Chavdas had invited Chris Harvey to be the focused minister for this time.  In the middle of tragedy Chris brought his laughter and his refreshing to those who were hungry.  I finally figured it out after I had come over several times that only hungry people come here to this tent.  There were all kind of supernatural international visitors.  

CANON ANDREW WHITE

One person who came to the big top was a man with a Roman collar around his neck, he came into our life at a time that would open another door to this great ministry in Charlotte.  Canon Andrew  
White was anointed to serve as a diplomat for the church of England in several hot spots around the world.  He was a product of a mixed marriage, but it was his intellect that sent him to Jerusalem to study for his future roll in the world.  Ruth Heflin saw him as a young man and said, "You will always come to this city but you will never be a resident hear."  Andrew White was amazing, how can a Pentecostal person rise so high in the Anglican Fellowship to touch the hot spots of the world.  Canon White loved children and during his ministry he walked into some places like Northern Nigeria to bring peace to a place where Islamic people were killing Christians and burning them.  He was sent to Bethlehem to administer in peace to a group of terrorist that were held up in the very place where Christ was born.  What I really began to understand about the Watch of the Lord was that this place was a meeting place for God's warriors, and it was centered around prayer and the prophetic. 

Mahesh & Bonnie, Armor Bearers For A Great Man of God, Derrick Prince

Mahesh and Bonnie traveled with the great man of God Derrick Prince as his armor bearer.  In a time when much of the body of Christ rejected the new project called discipleship, a young Mahesh Chavda fresh from bible school in Lubbock, Texas.  Mahesh and Bonnie headed toward Charlotte to establish a new work after they worked with Prince, the great man of God moved to Israel while Mahesh and Bonnie began their work in Charlotte.  There were several people added to them that were without question qualified to be a pastor in their own right.  If you are a visitor to this great work you will feel one thing and that is the love and hospitality of these two people.  The quality of All Nations Church was built around family and there was a deep humility in this group that allows God to retain His glory there. This is a house of prayer and there is no flesh here. The man of God who leads these passionate people walked humbly before the Lord.

A Deep Hunger To Touch His Face

Mahesh was from Africa and went to Bible School in a Southern Baptist Seminary.  He would very often say that he was a Southern Baptist African Pentecostal.  The only thing fundamental about Mahesh was the supernatural. One of the most profound testimonies that I have ever heard was given on one of the moment during a conference when Mahesh had a visitation from Jesus during a time he was a bible student in Lubbock, Texas.    He was supernaturally natural and naturally supernatural.  All Vivian and I knew was that the ministry here was a place of refreshing and a place of rest.
