KING OF THE ZULUS

By Editor Jerrell Miller

LAGOS, NIGERIA — I was listening to Tiger Woods speak on the greatest man he had ever met. He said it was Nelson Mandella, Woods said he felt a certain presence around this man when he was in the same room with him. I asked myself would I ever have the chance to meet such a controversial man as this and it was on that day I found out that the King of Zulus was coming to the Synagogue Church of All Nations. I began to make plans for a hurried trip to meet the King of the Zulus. Who is this man of the ancient people of power. No other tribe in Africa are more respected than these brave warriors but in this age they represent something different. They are the largest group of people who have the political control of the whole country of South Africa..

Driving through the streets of Lagos heading toward the airport once again I saw the outdoor shops with lighted candles selling late into the night. The lead car had a blue and red light on the top as the convoy moved through the narrow street of the capitol city. They were going to get the King of the Zulus and deliver the most powerful man in all of Africa to the Synagogue Church.

We arrived at the Nigerian International Airport, it looked like an armed camp. Soldiers with automatic weapons were on patrol all over the airport. Many Nigerian Army soldiers surrounded the doors of the great airport. We were asked to wait to the side. I was with the young lady who was the Zulu kings daughter. The great big South African 747 pulled in and all could see it from the sidewalk. The beautiful white airplane had the red, green, white and gold tail insignia on the back, and on the plane was one of the most powerful man in all of Africa. I remembered the history of the Zulu Nation in the early part of the settlement of South Africa. There ability as a warriors is well known in the British Empire. The Seiks of India, Scotlands infantry and the Zulu tribesmen are known as the most powerful warriors in all the world. It’s not as simple as being a warrior today in South Africa for a different set of problems are in that country. It was the visit of this powerful King of his nation that could bring about a new day for his people. One of the political leaders of the great Zulu Nation spoke about the transition of South Africa to new government. "I’m afraid that what we saw as the great dream has turned into a nightmare." He was speaking about the lawless strife that is in the streets of the major cities of that country. While there is still order in the country, God has made away through a powerful tribal leader of the Zulus. While the tribe represents a nation within a nation, the Zulu influence in South Africa can affect any wave of public opinion.

The King of the Zulu’s came to Lagos to seek the Lord at Synagogue Church. It’s not important that he came to the church to seek God with his family but what is important are the many he left behind that trust and follow this great world leader. The influence of Christianity upon the Zulu Nation could start a fire that could burn through the entire country of South Africa. One of the main concerns of the South Africa is the problem of HIV and AIDs, this problem has grown to epidemic proportion. It was reported by several major news organization that South Africa has the largest reported cases of aids. The disease is at epidemic proportions now and affecting every part of the population. Many people have searched for the answers to this great epidemic. One of the reasons the Zulu King came to the church was because of this very problem among the general population of the entire country.

On Saturday night a special audience for his majesty was brought before him to hear the testimony of the Synagogue Church. An audience of sixty people who have been healed of HIV positive and AIDs at the church sat in front of the king to give glory to Jesus. Prophet T.B. Joshua has become a controversial figure in the city of Lagos among the religious community but one fact stands out among the critics. The testimony of these miraculous healings has become a fact that these religious critics can find little to say about. The vision for what is going to happen among the entire world was before this great tribal King. The ministry of Jesus has not turned its eyes from Africa but has opened the door of hope through his ministers who have been sent to heal and to bring forth life in the world.

At the end of the meeting the king was asked three questions about the witness of those who had been healed of AIDs and HIV positive. "The graves have been dug all the way through Africa and they are the graves of the young. We must follow the Word of God and live holy in our own lives. Sex must be only within the bonds of marriage. The sorrow of this is in every nation in Africa, the thing that is the hardest is that it touches the poor people. We must live by the word of God and the only way to practice sex is within the holiness of marriage."
