PROPHETIC DESTINY WITNESSED
BY PARENTS/by Jerrell MillerLAGOS, NIGERIA -- What if your son or daughter came to you one day and told you that they wanted to go to Nigeria to become a junior prophet at the Synagogue Church of All Nations and learn under a man named Prophet T. B. Joshua? Every parent who has a child at the Synagogue Church has went through this monumental decision. The Junior Prophets at the church come from everywhere with a divine call on their lives. From the United States, Greece, England, France, South Africa, The Netherlands and many other countries they come to learn of power of God at the Synagogue Church of All Nations in Lagos, Nigeria.
For one parent it was quite a trial. Nick and Janet Holmes were presented with a situation that they did not want to find themselves in. Janet was in school at the time in England and they had planned for her daughter to finish there. Rachel had made a trip to South African and on the way home she informed her parents that she wanted to go Lagos, Nigeria. Rachel Holmes had made contact with people who had been to the Lagos church and were convinced that what was going on there was the real thing. Nick at the time would not advance the money for her to go to Nigeria and she flew home to go back to school. Rachel was convinced that her call was real and during the holiday break at Christmas she had saved her own money to fly to Lagos. Rachel has been at the church every since.
Janet, Rachel’s mother wanted to see the church. Flying down to Nigeria the mother was impressed with what was going on and as she returned to England she spoke to Nick in a positive way. Nick was still not convinced that his daughter should be in Lagos and boarded a British Airways Jet to find out for himself. Still skeptical even after seeing the church he lined up in a prayer line to be prayed for. Nick since childhood had a problem breathing at times because of asthma. As the prophet passed by him he laid hands on Nick. Here is what Nick said happened, "As he put his hand on my chest, I was blown back in the air seven feet and came to rest. When I got up I had been completely healed of asthma."
Nick and Janet went home from the Lagos Church and were deeply touched. In days to come Nick who had been in the Anglican Church for years began to search out a place near them where they believe in divine healing. "I have been a member of the Anglican Church for years a we just had to go where the power of God was in the worship."
This is just one of several stories about the parents who support their children to become Junior Prophets at the Lagos Church. Steve and Barbara Lauchland of Galt, California sent their daughter Cara to the church after she finished at Fresno State University. Another Galt, family Joey and Kitty Brandt also sent their daughter Angela to the church. The stories are endless as I sat with parents from the Netherlands, South Africa and England. In each case Prophet T. B. Joshua wanted the approval of the parents before they settled into be a part of the ministry. Many of the parents said they had received phone calls from the prophet reassuring them about their children. Prophet Joshua would even fly the parents to the church as his own cost to reassure them of the ministry there.
David Tong’s parents Gary and Fiona now plan missionary trips to Lagos. Prophet David was recently promoted to Synagogues first outside mission in Austria along with Pastor Benson. The search for truth about the healing power of God is being revealed to the young people who have come to serve and study the ways of God in Lagos, Nigeria. Most of the Junior Prophets are in their early 20’s and they have come to overcome religion. Many of them come from religious back grounds and have an increased hunger to see Jesus do his New Testament miracles in today’s church.
