INTERSTATE 55 -- Coming out of Memphis, Tennessee, you have to take I-55 to Sikeston, Missouri. In Sikeston, John Davis began his new found freedom and became the Ambassador of the Brownsville Revival. It was at Larry Daviss church in Sikeston that John Davis went for several weeks of revival and found the touch he received at Brownsville was powerful. From that church he began to touch the country and move into a World Wide Ministry as the Brownsville Ambassador.
Below Sikeston is a place called New Madrid, Missouri. It is there where one of the largest earthquake faults in the country is located. The last time the earth moved there was in the early 1800s. The Mississippi River moved backward and thousands of people died in an instant. The marks of that great move are still there today. Many know it could move any day. Recently a prophet of God spoke prophecy over the highway that runs near the Mississippi River. Bob Jones, a Morning Star Prophet, said this about Interstate 55 in 1991 in the publication The Shepherds Rod. "I-55 will have a "shaking" and a "visitation of favor". Even as this highway runs through the heart of our nation, so shall divine favor touch the heart of the people in occurrence with a great "shaking". An I-55 corridor will begin, providing the unveiling of the "Highway to Heaven" outlined through Isaiah 55."
All along the great highway are reminders of our sins as a nation. During President Clintons first campaign he used to use I-55 to come to Missouri to campaign. In Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is a field of crosses. The field of crosses represents the death of babies aborted in the abortion mills of America daily. In front of the cemetery are the large crosses that represent the number killed during that particular year. As Governor Clinton came headed toward this area, his driver was told to bypass the cemetery. That day the future president chose to turn away from the field of crosses, knowing they were on the right hand side of the car as he came from Arkansas heading toward St. Louis. All along I-55 the Catholic people have placed signs pointing to the massive killing of these babies. The cemetery has been there for quite some time. The first time I saw it was when I went to write John Daviss meeting up in Sikeston. Since Bill Clinton has been President we have
seen the glory of God. The evil that has flowed through the executive branch of our country has opened the door of heaven. The scripture that says grace will balance the darkness is a reality in this country today.
The hand of mercy is upon our country right now. We are seeing revival but not to the potential of healing the nation. Some way God is going to get our attention. It says in Isaiah 55:6-8 Seek the Lord while he may be found, call upon him while he is near: let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the Lord.
This scripture was written for a time like this. We stand in the place of intercession for our country. Government will not save us but we know we can seek the Lord, because He can be found at this time. God has given us this warning through scripture. Our ways are not His ways but we can become like Him if we seek His face.
The people of First Assembly in Springfield, Illinois, will build their new sanctuary along I-55. Pastor Eric Hanson knows we are at the edge of time and that this is a time of grace. His church is very much like Ezekiels passage about dried bones. First Assembly is an Isaiah 55 church -- he was suppose to bury a church four years ago but he worked, planted, and watered the fertile ground to see the dried bones become flesh. He was just 32 years old when he went to Springfield and the 100 people never thought the church would live again. Now there are 475 people and the pastor has planned for the harvest as a 2200 seat sanctuary is being raised along I-55. Surely this congregations ways have become like the ways of God. They think like God and each day they increase because of the favor that has been placed upon them. Jesus said in scripture, If I be lifted up I will draw all men unto to me. The ministry that is flowing from this church is touching those who cant help themselves. The homeless and the needy are main priorities. Even though they are leaving the downtown area a mission is being left behind to continue the work.
